THE MANHUNT CONTINUES IN ALBUQUERQUE'S SOUTH VALLEY FOR A SUSPECT WHO REPORTEDLY FIRED SHOTS AT BERNALILLO COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPUTIES WHO TRIED TO PULL HIM OVER TO CHECK FOR A STOLEN VEHICLE. IT HAD RIO BRAVO FROM COORS TO DEL RIO CLOSED FOR ABOUT 5 HOURS WEDNESDAY MORNING. THE ROAD REOPENED AROUND 8:30AM.
SHERIFF'S SPOKESMAN AARON WILLIAMSON TELLS USTHE SUSPECT REFUSED TO STOP WHEN DEPUTIES TRIED TO PULL HIM OVER AROUND 3:30AM. THEY DISENGAGED THE VEHICLE, CAUSING IT TO CRASH AT RIO BRAVO AND DEL RIO. AS THEY PULLED BEHIND THE VEHICLE, WILLIAMSON SAYS THE SUSPECT GOT OUT OF HIS VEHICLE AND FIRED MULTIPLE ROUNDS AT THE DEPUTIES. THE SUSPECT THEN RAN.
A 1-THOUSAND DOLLAR REWARD IS OFFERED FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO THE ARREST AND CONVICTION OF THIS INDIVIDUAL.
