New Mexico’s unemployment rate for April is unchanged from March, now at 6.7%. A year ago it was at 6.6%. The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions says overall job growth between this April and April of last year was 7,400 jobs.
The was the third in the last six months. Private sector industries were up 9,000 jobs, the largest gain since June of 2015. Nationally, the unemployment rate now sits at 4.4%, down from 4.5% in March. It stood at 5% in April of 2016.
