New developments in the State’s budget crisis. Governor Martinez says here administration is getting ready to order state employees to take unpaid days off starting as early as next month. The Governor made the comments during a speech to business leaders in Albuquerque.
Martinez has already ordered a hiring freeze. State lawmakers recently passed a budget containing $350 million dollars in tax hikes, but the Governor has promised to veto any tax increase and is expected to call a special session.
