There will be efforts to raise New Mexico’s minimum wage when the 2017 legislature convenes next month. The statewide rate is now $7.50 an hour although many local governments, including Albuquerque and Santa Fe, have higher minimum wages. The Santa Fe New Mexican reports one proposal would double the statewide rate to $15 and hour. Another would boost pay to $8.45 an hour.
