Sometime next year, Bernalillo County Commissioners are expected to make a decision on whether to guy the First Plaza Galleria building downtown. The would allow for a consolidation of county government in one place.
Commissioner Wayne Johnson says this could be a good idea if they can put together a package to sell off other buildings the county owns that are costing them for upkeep and operations. He says that would be beneficial to the public.
But Johnson says if the county comes out on the losing side, money-wise, he wouldn’t support the purchase. He expects a decision within six months.
