With a convincing win in New York this week Donald Trump has again seen the momentum swing his way. His victory speech also offered perhaps some insight into a new direction he is taking. There were no more nicknames, Lyin’ Ted become Senator Cruz and the Big Loser become Governor Kasich. Maybe this is because of a revamped Trump campaign staff. Whatever the case the worst nightmare of the GOP establishment is about to come true, Trump has already taken over the party and is on the cusp of clinching the nomination. With 89 delegates allotted to Trump last night in New York, he now has 846 and is only 391 delegates away from winning the nomination. Next Tuesday, 5 primaries in Trump friendly territory Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Rhode Island with 172 delegates in total up for grabs. If Trumps just gets half of these he will be at 934 heading into the final 10 contests of the primary season.
Be sure and join me this weekend as I fill in for Eric Strauss Saturday and Sunday Morning for 7-10AM and again Tuesday night at 10PM after the primary for analysis and your calls live. Coming soon I will be occupying the 10PM time slot weeknights after Levin, with producer Jeff St. Louis, as we start a new local program called After Dark, and as always thanks for listening.
