Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has signed SB-219, known as the Medical Psilocybin Act, into law. This legislation creates a legal pathway for patients to access psilocybin treatment in New Mexico, making the state the third in the nation to allow such access to the drug. The bill, which passed with bipartisan support in both the House and Senate, directs the New Mexico Department of Health to develop a regulated program. Under the law, licensed healthcare providers may administer psilocybin for conditions such as treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, substance use disorders, and end-of-life care.
