Fines for those facing deportation

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The Trump administration plans to fine immigrants facing deportation orders up to $998 a day if they fail to leave the country — and seize their property if they refuse to pay. The Department of Homeland Security and the IRS have reached an agreement granting Immigration and Customs Enforcement access to confidential taxpayer information to locate immigrants targeted for deportation. Around 1.4 million immigrants ordered for removal will be targeted under the plan. The administration is continuing to urge anyone in the U.S. illegally to self-deport using the CBP Home app.
