Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Too many birds has led to the closing of the Veterans Memorial Park on Louisiana Southeast, not far from the Sunport and Kirtland Air Force Base. There are an estimated 50-thousand starlings, and the City is working to make their nesting efforts a little less comfortable. Tarps are being used to cover popular gathering areas in hopes of discouraging the birds. It’s uncertain how long the park will remain closed.
