Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The Bernalillo County Commissioners took the first step in making a bid to move the State Fair to Los Lunas, giving preliminary approval for a special tax district. However, Commissioner Adriann Barboa wants to make sure there’s plenty of public input before anything is finalized. She says a public meeting at the current Expo New Mexico will be held before the March 11th final vote on the tax district. Meanwhile, Los Lunas is taking preliminary steps to transfer a 286-acre site known at “the Grasslands” to the state to be used as a fairgrounds.
