Heinrich to skip Santa Fe

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — US Senator Martin Heinrich has decided to stay put in Washington, rather than run for New Mexico Governor next year. He made the announcement this morning after speculation the newly re-elected Senator could replace termed-out Michelle Lujan Grisham. Heinrich cited what he called President Trump’s “alarming actions” as a reason New Mexico needs a strong voice in Washington more than ever. Former Interior Secretary Deb Haaland has been named as a possible gubernatorial candidate, although she has dodged the question.
