Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — An officer-involved shooting in Rio Rancho Saturday, after a domestic violence incident, according to police. Audelio Lopez, of Española, is in custody following an officer-involved shooting over the weekend. Police say they responded to a domestic violence call and found Lopez fleeing the scene. When an officer located him nearby, Lopez appeared to point a weapon at the officer, who fired a shot, hitting him in the chest. No weapon was found, and Lopez is expected to survive. He will face new charges once discharged from the hospital. The officer is on paid administrative leave, and an investigation is ongoing.
