Federal money diverted

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — An investigation by the City of Albuquerque’s Inspector General finds federal money intended for Child Stabilization grants was diverted to bonuses for 27 City employees. Council President Dan Lewis says he’s turning the matter over to the US Attorney today. The I-G found almost $28-thousand was diverted from the federal COVID relief grant funding, for an average of about $10-thousand in bonuses per employee. The Mayor’s office has not responded to a request for comment.
