Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The Metropolitan Detention Center is investigating yet another accidental inmate release. This time, a man who was just tried for murder was set free, although he was not convicted in a recent trial. He was supposed to be sent to California to face charges there. The inmate – whose name was not released – is currently back in custody. In July, there were 3 cases of inmates wrongfully being released. The jail says initial reviews show there’s been a problem with following proper procedures dealing with releases.
