Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The Bureau of Land Management conducted a live competitive auction for a nearly 940-acre parcel in the Afton Solar Energy Zone in Doña Ana County. Boulevard Associates, LLC winning the lease for $1.9 million. The company now has two years to submit a Plan of Development before beginning construction. The BLM manages public lands for renewable energy projects, with over 32 gigawatts of clean energy capacity already permitted—enough to power 15 million homes. This year, BLM also introduced a new Renewable Energy Rule aimed at reducing costs and accelerating solar and wind project development.
