Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — There’s a new license plate option for New Mexico motorists. The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish partnered with the New Mexico Motor Vehicle Division to release a Gila Monster themed plate. This is the fifth wildlife art plate, joining quail, mule deer, Rio Grande cutthroat trout and roadrunner plates. One of only two venomous lizards in North America, a component of the Gila’s venom is used as a key ingredient in medication for Type-2 Diabetes.
