Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Today, the Albuquerque Police Department placed deputy commander Gustavo Gomez on administrative leave. The department is in the midst of an internal investigation of alleged wrongdoings involving its intoxicated driving enforcement officers. Gomez, who has been working with the department since 2008, started his position as deputy commander in January. He worked with the APD driving while intoxicated unit from 2010 to 2014. The FBI is also investigating allegations of misconduct in APD’s DWI unit.
