Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Zane Skinner was 19 years old in December of 2022 when he shot and stabbed his father, Michael Skinner, at their Rio Rancho home on North Pole Loop. According to the criminal complaint, Skinner called the police and eventually admitted his actions. Police said he told them he went into his father’s bedroom where he was sleeping, woke him up, and asked him if he abused animals. He then killed him. The complaint stated that Skinner waited 24 hours to call the police because he was originally going to try and dispose of the body. Authorities found the father dead in a bathtub. Skinner pleaded guilty to second-degree murder on Sept. 9th.
