Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Starting today, automated speed cameras placed in unincorporated areas of Bernalillo County will begin issuing citations. The county installed six different cameras in parts of the county and activated them last month. Since their installation, those caught speeding were only issued warnings. Now, the cameras will be issuing citations. Those with a lead-foot could be subject to a $100 fine or have the option to pay a $25 fine and work 4 hours of community service, picking up litter, weeds and helping at community cleanup events with the BernCo Clean Team.
