APD arrests three after shooting at police

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — APD officers arrested three men after witnessing one of the men fire a gunshot at officers overnight in the area of Eubank Ave. and Lomas Blvd. N.E.

An APD sergeant observed several gunshots being fired from the passenger side of a black sedan as it traveled southbound on Eubank at 1:31 a.m., just south of Indian School N.E. The sergeant followed the vehicle and kept his distance as he waited for additional officers.

The vehicle then came to a stop at Eubank NE and Lomas Blvd. due to a red light. As the sergeant got the license plate for the vehicle, the vehicle proceeded southbound on Eubank.  The sergeant then observed an occupant on the passenger side of the vehicle point a black firearm out the passenger window and fire at least 1 round in the direction of the sergeant.

The sergeant turned his vehicle hard to the left to avoid being struck. He initiated his emergency equipment and the black sedan got onto I-40 traveling westbound. The black sedan signaled to pull over to the right-hand shoulder as it decreased its speed to 35 mph but it did not stop and continued westbound and exited I-40 at Wyoming NE. The vehicle then came to a stop at 1200 Wyoming Bl. NE where a high-risk stop was conducted.

Three occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody without incident. Impact detectives were called out and the vehicle was sealed and towed from the scene. Several bullet casings were located in the area where the shootings took place.

Nobody was injured during the shooting. Police arrested Josiah Herrera, 19, Jonathan Rosales, 19, and Bodhi Lamariana, 18.
