NO DIVING BOARDS AT ALBUQUERQUE AND BERNALILLO COUNTY POOLS FOR A WHILE. ONE OF THE DIVING BOARDS BROKE RECENTLY, RIGHT AFTER A PERSON USED IT TO DIVE INTO THE WATER. THE DIVER WAS NOT INJURED. BUT NOW, THE CITY AND COUNTY SAY THE BOARDS ARE OFF LIMITS UNTIL THEY’RE ALL INSPECTED AND MADE SURE THAT THEY’RE SAFE.
THE ALBUQUERQUE JOURNAL REPORTS THE BOARDS IN QUESTION ARE AT THE SANDIA HIGH SCHOOL POOL AND THE HIGHLAND POOL. THE CITY HAS 12 POOLS, BUT THE ONLY LOCATIONS WITH DIVING BOARDS ARE HIGHLAND, SANDIA, WEST MESA AQUATIC CENTER AND VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL.
THE NEW BOARDS SHOULD BE INSTALLED IN ABOUT TWO WEEKS.
