Going Green in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE MAYOR TIM KELLER SAYS THE CITY IS ON THE PATH TO BECOMING ONE OF THE TOP TEN U.S. CITIES POWERED BY RENEWABLE ENERGY. THE CITY AND PNM HAVE ANNOUNCED A PLAN TO ADD 50 MEGAWATTS OF SOLAR POWER TO SUBSCRIBERS OF THE PROJECT, TO BE LOCATED ON THE JICARILLA APACHE NATION IN NORTHERN NEW MEXICO.

THE MAYOR SAYS TWO THIRDS OF ALBUQUERQUE’S CITY-OWNED FACILITIES COULD BE CARBON-FREE BY 2021. THE PROPOSAL STILL NEEDS THE APPROVAL OF THE NEW MEXICO PUBLIC REGULATION COMMISSION.
