Appointments Made to NM’s New Ethics Commission

THE FIRST TWO COMMISSIONERS HAVE BEEN APPOINTED TO NEW MEXICO’S NEW STATE ETHICS COMMISSION. ACCORDING TO THE ASSOCIATED PRESS, HOUSE SPEAKER BRIAN EGOLF HAS NAMED FORMER DEPUTY STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL STUART BLUESTONE OF SANTA FE TO THE PANEL. AND SENATE PRESIDENT MARY KAY PAPEN HAS APPOINTED FRANCES WILLIAMS, WHO HAS EXPERIENCE AS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY MANAGER AT WHITE SANDS MISSILE RANGE.

THE COMMISSION, APPROVED BY VOTERS LAST YEAR, WILL LOOK INTO ALLEGATIONS OF WRONGDOING BY PUBLIC OFFICIALS, POLITICAL CANDIDATES, LOBBYISTS AND GOVERNMENT CONTRACTORS.
