Judge to Decide Griego’s Fate

THE PROSECUTION AND THE DEFENSE MADE THEIR CLOSING ARGUMENTS IN THE AMENABILITY HEARING FOR NEHEMIAH GRIEGO ON TUESDAY. THE HEARING IS TO DECIDE IF GRIEGO GOES FREE OR CONTINUES TO BE INCARCERATED.

GRIEGO HAS BEEN IN A JUVENILE DETENTION CENTER, THEN THE METRO DETENTION CENTER, AFTER BEING CONVICTED IN 2013 OF KILLING HIS PARENTS AND THREE YOUNGER SIBLINGS IN THEIR SOUTH VALLEY HOME. HE ADMITTED TO THE KILLING AND WAS SENTENCED AS A CHILD TO BE RELEASED WHEN HE TURNED 21.

GRIEGO IS NOW 22. THE DEFENSE WANTS HIM IN JAIL, GIVEN THE NATURE OF THE CRIME AND CALLING THE MURDERS OF HIS FAMILY “COLD.” JUDGE ALISA HART IS EXPECTED TO ANNOUNCE HER DECISION AFTER MAY 10TH.
