INVESTIGATORS WILL TRY TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF A TWO ALARM ALBUQUERQUE APARTMENT FIRE THAT LEFT A 10 YEAR OLD BOY DEAD AND TWO OTHERS, WHO WERE 13 AND 2 YEARS OLD, HOSPITALIZED IN CRITICAL CONDITION. SEVERAL OTHER RESIDENTS WERE TREATED FOR SMOKE INHALATION ON SCENE.
LT. TOM RUIZ WITH ALBUQUERQUE FIRE RESCUE SAYS THE FIRE AT EUBANK AND MONTGOMERY DID A LOT OF DAMAGE. HE SAYS THE STRUCTURE OF THE BUILDING WAS ALSO COMPROMISED. THE FIRE BROKE OUT SHORTLY AFTER TWO A-M. IN ALL SIX UNITS WERE AFFECTED BY THE FIRE.
IN ADDITION TO THE TWO CHILDREN IN CRITICAL CONDITION, AN ADULT FEMALE SUFFERED AN INJURY TO HER LOWER LEG AND IS IN STABLE CONDITION.
ALBUQUERQUE FIRE RESCUE ARSON IS INVESTIGATING THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE.
