THE GILA RIVER THAT FLOWS FROM NEW MEXICO INTO ARIZONA HAS BEEN NAMED THE NATION’S MOST ENDANGERED RIVER. THE LIST IS COMPILED EVERY YEAR BY THE CONSERVATION GROUP “AMERICAN RIVERS.” THE GROUP CITED CLIMATE CHANGE AND A PROPOSED DIVERSION PROJECT IN GIVING THE GILA RIVER THE DISTINCTION.
