HAROLD BAILEY, HEAD OF THE ALBUQUERQUE BRANCH OF THE NAACP, SAYS IT’S IMPORTANT THAT THE CITY’S POLICE DEPARTMENT BE DIVERSE. HE SAYS IT HELPS WITH COMMUNITY POLICING AND BETTER REFLECTS THE POPULATION IN THE CITY. HE SAYS IF YOU ONLY 18 AND HAVE A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR A G-E-D, YOU CAN GET INVOLVED WITH APD’S POLICE SERVICE AIDE PROGRAM.
THE FORUM IS THIS SUNDAY FROM 2 TO 3:30 PM AT THE AFRICAN AMERICAN PERFORMING ARTS CENTER AT EXPO NEW MEXICO. TO REGISTER, CALL 908-0798.
