BERNALILLO COUNTY NOW HAS A CONSTRUCTION AND DESIGN FIRM TO RENOVATE AND EXPAND THE ALVARADO SQUARE BUILDING DOWNTOWN INTO THE COUNTY’S NEW HEADQUARTERS. COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TUESDAY NIGHT VOTED TO AWARD THE CONTRACT TO HB CONSTRUCTION WITH DEKKER/PERICH/SABATINI ARCHITECTS WORKING WITH THEM.
THE BUILDING AT 415 SILVER SOUTHWEST WILL EVENTUALLY BE THE NEW HOME FOR COUNTY GOVERNMENT. IT’LL COST 45-POINT-7 MILLION DOLLARS TO BUILD AND WILL INCLUDE A TOTAL REMODEL OF THE ALVARADO SQUARE BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW BUILDING FOR COMMISSION CHAMBERS THAT’LL HAVE 200 SEATS AND A MEETING SPACE FOR THE COMMUNITY.
