Bill to Allow Alcohol Deliveries on Governor’s Desk

IT’S NOW UP TO GOVERNOR MICHELLE LUJAN GRISHAM TO DECIDE IF A BILL ALLOWING BEER AND WINE TO BE DELIVERED TO HOME WITH FOOD ORDERS. THE SAME MEASURE WAS VETOED BY FORMER GOVERNOR SUSANA MARTINEZ. ONLY A LIMITED AMOUNT OF BOOZE WOULD BE ALLOWED TO BE DELIVERED. THE LEGISLATION CALLS FOR TWO SIX PACKS OF BEER OR TWO BOTTLES OF WINE THAT WOULD HAVE TO BE DELIVERED BY A LICENSED VENDOR. THE PEOPLE MAKING THOSE DELIVERIES WOULD ALSO HAVE TO UNDERGO ALCOHOL SERVER TRAINING.

DEMOCRATIC SENATOR GERALD ORTIZ Y PINO TELLS THE ABQ JOURNAL THE MEASURE WILL MAKE IT LESS LIKELY FOR SOMEONE TO GO OUT DRIVING TO GET MORE BEER OR ANOTHER BOTTLE OF WINE.
