A BILL THAT WOULD ALLOW MEDICAL MARIJUANA IN SCHOOLS HAS BEEN APPROVED BY THE NEW MEXICO SENATE ON A VOTE TO 33-TO-2. IT NOW HEADS TO THE STATE HOUSE. THE MEASURE REQUIRES LOCAL SCHOOL BOARD TO DRAFT THE RULES FOR STORING AND ADMINISTERING THE DRUG.
ADDITIONALLY, THE BILL CHANGES THE MEDICAL POT PROGRAM TO INCLUDE A BAN ON A WORKER BEING FIRED IF THEY USE MEDICAL POT ON THE JOB. THE EMPLOYEE, HOWEVER, WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO COME THE WORK IMPAIRED.
