TWO SEPARATE SHOOTINGS IN MEADOWLAKE, NEW MEXICO, OVER THE WEEKEND. ON SATURDAY NIGHT, THE FIRST FATAL SHOOTING STARTED ON PRADO PLACE AND ENDED ON SPORTSMAN STREET. THIRTY-TWO YEAR OLD JESUS GARCIA AND 24 YEAR OLD ALEJANDRO MONTELONGO WERE BRIEFLY DETAINED FOR THE DEATH OF DANIEL SANDOVAL, BUT NOT HELD DUE TO NO PROBABLE CAUSE. BY SUNDAY, THERE WAS A ENOUGH EVIDENCE TO PUT OUT WARRANTS FOR THEIR ARREST. THEY WERE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AND FACE CHARGES OF MURDER, CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT MURDER, AND TAMPERING WITH EVIDENCE.
STATE POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING WITH THE VALENCIA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE. THEY’RE ALSO INVESTIGATING A HOME INVASION THAT WAS AN ATTEMPTED BURGLARY. A MAN AND WOMAN BROKE INTO THE HOME AND WERE SHOT AT BY THE HOMEOWNER. THE OFFENDERS WERE FOUND ON VALENCIA DRIVE AND ARRESTED.
