Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The trial is underway for Tristan Salais, who’s accused in the 2022 fatal road rage shooting of 50 year old Jesse Lovato. Lovato was driving to work when he crashed into a wall after crossing the bridge on Montano near Rio Grande. When first responders arrived at the scene, they discovered he had been shot in the neck. According to the criminal complaint, Salais first identified himself to responding officers as a witness to the crash. However, after reviewing surveillance video and data from a nearby Shot Spotter, police arrested Salais. He faces charges of second degree murder, and shooting from a moving vehicle.
