Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — A state senator is still working on a law to make it easier for mothers in crisis to surrender their babies, after this week’s death of a newborn found in a dumpster. State Senator David Gallegos tells KKOB’s Morning Show with Bob Clark he’s hopeful Democrats will allow Baby Box deposits without tracking down the parents. Right now, babies can be surrendered in-person at hospitals and fire stations, but Senator Gallegos wants to expand that to the Safe Haven Baby Boxes.
