Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — There’s at least 286 Mexican gray wolves living throughout the wilds of New Mexico and Arizona. But you won’t have to go farther than Old Town to find them. Some new, wild packs will soon call the ABQ BioPark home. The director of the facility says construction is well underway on a new, 5-acre Mexican gray wolf conservation center, right behind the Botanic Gardens. The $1.5 million project will include five different wolf habitats, each big enough to house an entire pack. Construction is expected to be complete by the end of this summer.
