Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — While Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programs may be dead on the federal level with the Trump Administration, a bill to create DEI positions in the state cleared a Senate committee Sunday, advancing to the Finance Committee. Senator Antionette Sedillo Lopez of Albuquerque sponsored the legislation, saying New Mexico deserves to see a government reflective of the people. Opponents say DEI has been discredited as discrimination.
