Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Congressman Gabe Vasquez is demanding answers from the US Border Patrol after agents stopped a Las Cruces High School charter bus Friday and asked students about their immigration status. The agency says they became suspicious when the bus driver was unable to respond to questions in English at the checkpoint north of Las Cruces on I-25. Vasquez called the check harassment, while the Border Patrol says it was a routine check of a bus that had no markings that it was being used by the high school.
