Solar plant in Rio Rancho

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The Atrisco Solar Power and Battery Storage project is up and running in Rio Rancho. The 2,300-acre project will power more than 110,000 homes. It’s also expected to generate more than $1 million per year in taxes. Mayor Greg Hull says, “this is going to make Rio Rancho extremely attractive, having this type of energy adjustment in our community provides for future economic development.” However, it’s unlikely residents will see any direct impact in their own home, as this particular facility feeds into the PNM grid.
