Legislative session kicks off

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The 2025 New Mexico legislative session has officially begun, with Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham outlining key priorities. In her State of the State address, she called for $205 million to make childcare accessible, proposed $50 million to fight homelessness, and urged tougher laws on repeat offenders to address rising crime. The Governor also stressed the need for expanded healthcare in rural areas and new investments in clean energy and water conservation. Lawmakers will work over the next 60 days to tackle these issues.
