Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — In light of the wildfire disaster in Los Angeles, the village of Corrales is taking precautions. Village Fire Chief Anthony Martinez says they have received a lot of calls and questions regarding various residents who have not been able to get insurance on their homes in Corrales and had to go and find them in other places. Adding, that he knows that some people in Santa Fe live in the hills and are also struggling to get insurance. One issue Martinez brought up was not having water readily available in the bosque. More specifically, the current system only allows for fire suppression, not extinguishing large fires like in LA. He stesses that preparation is absolutely necessary. Adding, there are increasing public efforts to clean up the Corrales bosque of downed and dead wood
