Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — New Mexico State University and Athletic Director Mario Moccia have parted ways, effective immediately. President Valerio Ferme cited a recent Department of Justice report as the reason for a “fresh start” in the athletics program. Amber Burdge has been named acting athletic director. Moccia had led the department since 2015, overseeing a hazing scandal and a shooting incident.
