Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is giving a pair of Albuquerque charities $6.25-million. It’s the first time the local Catholic Charities and Barrett Foundation have been recipients from the Bezos Day One Families Fund. The giving is part of a $110-million total distributed this year around the nation. The only other time Bezos gave to a local charity was 2019, when a donation was given to HopeWorks homeless services. Jeff Bezos was born in Albuquerque in 1964.
