Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The New Mexico Corrections Department is getting a financial boost with the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration’s commitment of $24.8 million to bolster public safety by funding 189 new correctional officer positions. The significant investment will help offset the cost of new correctional officer salaries for three years, reinforcing the state’s commitment to enhancing the security of its correctional facilities. Gov. Lujan Grisham said, the investment is a clear message that New Mexico is serious about public safety and the well-being of both our communities and those who serve them.
