UNM lawsuit settled

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — In a lawsuit filed by the parents of former Lobo football player Nahje Flowers in 2020, coaching staff was accused of not properly supervising the 21-year-old and making him continue to play football after he sustained repeated head injuries. The suit claimed that the repetitive injuries caused his mental health to decline. In the recent settlement University of New Mexico will pay out $325,000 to his family. In the weeks leading up to his suicide, Flowers was put on anti-depressants, was seeking counseling for his depression, and complained of constant pain.
