Bernalillo County, NM (KKOB) — Commissioner Steven Michael Quezada will host a community meeting on the proposed Behavioral Health Ordinance on Monday, June 17, in the Ken Sanchez Commission Chambers at Alvarado Square, 415 Silver Ave. SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
“We have heard from many of our constituents with concerns and feedback they have for this proposed Behavioral Health Ordinance that will serve as a framework for our current behavioral health programs and initiatives,” says Commissioner Quezada. “The funding for these programs is derived from a behavioral health tax that comes directly from our community members. I want to make sure everyone has an opportunity to express their opinions.”
Dr. Wayne Lindstrom, deputy county manager for Behavioral Health, will also be at the meeting to explain the ordinance, hear feedback, and respond to questions and concerns.
The proposed Behavioral Health Ordinance is scheduled for a final vote at the Bernalillo County Commission meeting on June 25, 2024.
