Mount Taylor Ranger District fuelwood permits

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Beginning Wednesday May 22, 2024, the Mount Taylor Ranger District will be selling fuelwood permits at their Fort Wingate location on Wednesdays only.

Fuelwood permits will be for the Mt Taylor Ranger District:
Dead Standing/Down
Dead Oak
Wildings (transplants).

Fort Wingate sale location: 326 D. Painted Horse Trail in Fort Wingate, NM. Directions: I-40 to exit 33 to NM 400 to the town of Fort Wingate and follow signs to the Wingate Workcenter/Administrative site.

Available for purchase at Fort Wingate:
Wednesdays ONLY 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m starting May 22, 2024 till Dec. 11, 2024.

The minimum/maximum purchase will be $20. You may purchase 10 cords of Dead Down District Wide for $20; A Dead Down District Wide Oak for $20 a cord or 2 wildings (transplants) for $20.

Fuelwood permits at Mount Taylor District Office, both in person and by telephone, will be sold Mondays thru Fridays from 8:30 am to 12 noon and from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm only at 505-287-8833.

Mt Taylor Fuelwood permits may also be purchased in person at the Cibola National Forest and National Grasslands Supervisors Office at 2113 Osuna Rd. NE in Albuquerque, NM, or by telephone at 505-346-3900.
