Bernalillo County, NM (KKOB) — Drivers may notice longer than usual wait times and delays along Bridge Boulevard starting Monday, May 20 as traffic patterns and signals will be adjusted intermittently for utility work. The work will allow for the New Mexico Gas Company to energize and connect the newly constructed gas main.
Work is scheduled to take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. tentatively or between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. into the following morning so as not to disrupt rush hour traffic. Crews anticipate working the same schedule on Tuesday and Wednesday as needed.
The following traffic movements will be affected as follows:
Bridge Boulevard:
- Eastbound and westbound Bridge Boulevard at 5 Points Road SW will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
- Eastbound Bridge Boulevard travelers will not be allowed to turn left onto northbound Sunset Road SW.
- Westbound Bridge Boulevard travelers will not be allowed to turn left onto southbound Sunset Road SW.
Sunset Road SW:
- Northbound and southbound Sunset Road at 5 Points Road SW will be reduced to one lane in each direction.

5 Points Road SW:
- Eastbound 5 Points Road SW travelers will not be allowed to travel east on Bridge Boulevard or travel north or south onto Sunset Road.
