NMSP arrests 20 impaired drivers in ABQ during one weekend

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — As part of continuing operations in the Albuquerque area, New Mexico State Police officers arrested 20 suspected impaired drivers from February 8th to February 10th. The increased enforcement efforts to ensure public safety on the roads have yielded commendable results.

During the weekend, New Mexico State Police officers made 95 traffic stops within the Metro area. Through vigilant enforcement measures, officers issued 48 traffic citations, reinforcing the importance of adherence to traffic laws for the safety of all road users.

“I am pleased with the significant amount of DWI arrests my officers made during the weekend. This substantial number in just three days underscores the unwavering commitment of New Mexico State Police officers to combat impaired driving and safeguard the lives of our friends and family on the roadways of New Mexico,” said Troy Weisler, Chief of the New Mexico State Police.
