AAA New Mexico Weekend Gas Watch

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The statewide gas price average in New Mexico is $3.06 for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel, according to the AAA New Mexico Weekend Gas Watch. That price is 11 cents less when compared to this day last week and 34 cents less per gallon than on this day last year. Of the major metropolitan areas surveyed in New Mexico, drivers in Farmington are paying the most on average at $3.84 per gallon while drivers in Las Cruces are paying the least at $2.82 per gallon. The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.28, which is six cents less when compared to this day last week and 36 cents less than the price per gallon at this same time last year.

The 3.7 million Mountain Region drivers hitting the road for Thanksgiving will be thankful to fill up with lower gas prices this Thanksgiving. While price fluctuations have occurred in some markets, lower crude oil prices and healthy supply are pushing fuel prices lower in the Land of Enchantment. AAA New Mexico projects a two percent increase in road travel this Thanksgiving compared to 2022.

“New Mexican drivers can be thankful for lower gas prices this holiday travel season,” said Daniel Armbruster, spokesperson for AAA New Mexico. “On average, regular unleaded is 34 cents less per gallon in New Mexico compared to last Thanksgiving.”
