Albuquerque, NM (KKOB)–Interim APD Chief Harold Medina says the department is strengthening the homicide unit with the addition of two detectives, a second sergeant, and more experienced command staff to oversee investigations. The homicide unit now has 12 detective positions and two sergeants to provide oversight and help manage cases. Albuquerque is seeing rising homicide numbers again in 2020, with more than 70 murders reported so far.
