Tuesday, November 3. 2020 is the date of the New Mexico General Election.
We invite you to use the details provided here, regarding New Mexico state, Bernalillo County and City of Albuquerque voting matters, for your voting registration. Or, to update your current voter registration, request an absentee ballot online, find a voting location, view important election dates, as well as to request a military or overseas ballot.
New Mexico residents won’t only be casting a ballot for the U.S. president this November, remember there are a variety of candidates and issues in New Mexico, Bernalillo County, your congressional district, and more.

Register to Vote
First things first, the New Mexico Secretary of State has links for you to register to vote online. The deadline to register to vote in New Mexico is Tuesday October 6th.
The deadline to request an absentee ballot is Tuesday October 20th at 5:00pm MDT, whether in person or online. No excuse is required in New Mexico for requesting an absentee ballot and remember that you can always vote in person. The deadline for mailing back your absentee ballot is October 27th (your ballot must be received by Tuesday Nov 3, 2020). Or, you can drop off your ballot at your county clerk’s office or at any polling location in your county during Early Voting or on Election Day.
You can also track the status of your mail in ballot online, remember to take a pic of the Intelligent Mail Barcodes on the absentee ballot.
Voting
Early voting begins in the office of the county clerks on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, and alternate early voting locations open on Saturday, October 17, 2020. Early voting continues through Saturday, October 31, 2020. You can find the nearest polling place to your home by clicking here.
